The Roadster, the electric sports car from tesla motors has the distinction of being the first car to have used the efficient lithium battery ahead of the nickel batteries that were commonly used by other car manufacturers. The Roadster with the new facility is no only able to travel up to 230 miles on a single charge but is not lacking on acceleration, as it is able to accelerate to 60mph in 3.7 seconds. Roadster with its carbon-fiber frame is designed to be light on weight and hence the manufacturer believes in adding only the most essential of the accessories like air conditioning and air bags.
The maintenance of the car is an easy exercise, as there is no need to change oil or take care of the exhaust system. In the opinion of the company, a user is required to bring the car to the company service center only after five years to replace the anti-freeze system. Thus the cars come with a performance warranty of three years. Roadster has features like remote locking, cruise control and heated seats as additional features. Roadster, which is still in infancy, yet, is sure to give a stiff competition to Porsche, in the near future.
